Fixed scope, timeline, and price

Local SEO Audit Service

I run professional local SEO audits for service businesses. One audit inspects your Google Business Profile, your local rankings on a geo-grid, your citations and NAP data, your reviews, your local pages, and your site’s technical health. You receive one prioritized report of findings and fixes. Fixed scope, fixed timeline, fixed price.

I am Jitender Ahlaawat, a local SEO specialist. Businesses hire me as their local SEO audit consultant when the rankings, the reports, or the phone stopped making sense. Audits are where I start when a business does not yet know what is broken, because you cannot fix what you have not diagnosed. This page covers what the audit inspects, what you receive, what it costs, and who actually needs one. It is part of my wider local SEO consulting, and it stands alone.

Seven areas, one report

All of it read against the local competitors beating you, not against a generic best-practice list.

What is a local SEO audit?

A local SEO audit is a structured review of every signal that decides your local rankings: profile, website, keywords, citations, reviews, and links, measured against the local competitors beating you. The output is not a score. It is a list of what is broken, what it costs you in local search results, and what to fix first.

A comprehensive local SEO audit answers three questions. Where is your local search visibility strong, and where are you invisible? Which local SEO signals are weak: relevance, prominence, or the site itself? And what sequence of fixes moves calls and customers soonest? A good audit report reads like a work order, not a lecture.

What my local SEO audit inspects

The audit covers seven areas: Google Business Profile, geo-grid rankings, keywords and pages, citations and NAP consistency, reviews, technical SEO, and AI visibility. Each area ends in findings with a priority.
1
Google Business Profile audit

Categories, services, description, photos, Q&A, duplicates, and anything that risks a suspension.

2
Geo-grid rankings baseline

Your real Google Maps and map pack positions across the whole service area, scanned on the tool I built for exactly this. Guides and free tools skip this. I do not.

3
Keywords and local pages

What your pages target, what your customers actually type, and where the gaps and keyword cannibalization sit.

4
Citations and NAP consistency

Your business name, address, and phone data checked across the directories that feed Google.

5
Reviews

Volume, velocity, ratings, and whether your responses help or hurt.

6
Technical SEO

Crawl and indexing, redirect chains, Core Web Vitals, local business schema, and a full Search Console review. This is my home turf.

7
AI visibility

Whether ChatGPT, Gemini, and Google’s AI Overviews can find and recommend you, as of August 2026. Some providers sell this check as a paid add-on. In my audit it is a section, not an upsell.

I also read all of it against your local competitors, including their citations, local backlinks, and review velocity, because an audit without competitor context is just a list of settings.

Can AI tools like ChatGPT run a local SEO audit?

AI tools can collect signals and summarize settings, and they are getting good at it. What they cannot do is weigh your specific market: why the three businesses above you rank, and which of your hundred issues actually moves you past them.

I use tools all day, including my own. The audit you pay me for is the judgment layered on top of them.

What you receive

The deliverable is a prioritized audit report: every finding, its impact, and its fix, ordered by what moves rankings and calls soonest. It is written to be handed to whoever implements, including a provider who is not me.

The report follows the audit structures agencies run on, which is where I built the habit: I work inside The Blueprint Training framework, and I have run website quality audits on agencies’ client accounts and trained their teams on the process. No hundred-page PDF padding. Findings, fixes, priority, owner.

How the report reads
Sample findings — illustrative
Finding
Fix
Priority
Primary category is set to a generic parent, not your top service

Change primary category; move the current one to secondary

P1 — first
Two plumber service pages target the same keyword and split rankings

Merge into one page; 301 the weaker URL

P1 — first
NAP phone differs on 9 of 34 directory listings

Correct the 9; lock the canonical format

P2
Geo-grid shows top 3 only within 1.5 miles of the address

Build two service-area pages for the weak quadrants

P2
No LocalBusiness schema on service pages

Add schema with matching NAP and service list

P3
Jitender's note

Judge any audit by its verbs. “Improve your content” is not a finding. “Your plumber pages target the same keyword and split your rankings; merge them” is. If every line of an audit could apply to any business, you paid for a template.

Free local SEO audit tools vs a professional audit

Free local SEO audit tools are genuinely useful, and you should try one. They are good at counting issues: missing meta tags, broken links, slow pages. What they cannot tell you is which of those issues matters in your market, and what to do first.
Free tool

A free SEO audit tool checks your site against search engine best practice.

Professional audit

A professional local SEO audit checks you against the businesses outranking you.

Those are different questions. The first is free for a reason.

Want to run the audit yourself? Use my 47-point local SEO audit checklist, free on this site, in the exact sequence I run it. If you get through it and rankings still will not move, that is precisely when the paid audit earns its fee.

And no, I do not give away a free audit. What is free is the 30-minute call, where I tell you straight whether you need one at all.

Who needs a local SEO audit, and how often

Buy an audit before you hire anyone, after a rankings drop, when you are switching providers, or when the monthly reports you get do not add up. Once a year is a sensible rhythm for a healthy business; after every major change for everyone else.

An SEO audit for a small business is usually the first professional SEO spend, and the one that makes every later dollar smarter. The audit is also the honest second opinion. If your current provider’s work is good, the audit says so and you keep them with more confidence. If it is not, you find out for the price of an audit instead of another year of retainers.

And if your rankings just fell off a cliff, start with troubleshooting and recovery instead; that service diagnoses and fixes in one motion.

How much does a local SEO audit cost?

Published 2026 audit pricing
$500 – $1,000

Entry-level audits

$1,500 – $5,000

Deep professional audits

$1,000 – $2,500

Where most small-business budgets sit

Mine is quoted per scope with a fixed price before we start.

Run the math first

If your average job is worth $2,000, a $1,500 audit pays for itself the first time it recovers one call you were losing.

Three things move an audit quote: how many locations, how large the site, and whether a suspension or penalty is in the picture. Tell me the situation on a call and you will have a number that week.

For how audit pricing fits the wider market, my local SEO pricing guide covers the full picture.

Jitender's note

An audit that ends with “everything is broken, hire me monthly” is a sales document. A real audit ranks your issues, tells you which ones you can fix yourself, and stands on its own even if you never spend another dollar with the auditor.

What happens after the audit

Three paths, your choice.
1

Implement the fixes yourself with the report as your work order.

2

Hand it to your current provider.

3

Or have me implement it, either as a fixed project or ongoing consulting.

The report is built to work in all three cases. If the biggest findings sit in your profile, Google Business Profile optimization is the usual next step. There is no lock-in and no dependency by design: the audit is a complete product, not a teaser.

Proof you can check

Agencies have used me for exactly this work.

“He’s done well over a dozen website quality audits for clients. He’s trained internal team members as well on the process.”

More outcomes are on the case studies page, and every claim I make is verifiable from the about page.

The bottom line

A local SEO audit is the cheapest way to stop guessing. Mine inspects the profile, the rankings, the pages, the citations, the reviews, the technical health, and the AI visibility, reads it all against your local competitors, and hands you a prioritized report you can act on with or without me.

The next step is thirty minutes, no pitch deck: a straight read on whether your problem is fixable, whether an audit is the right first step, and an honest “I’m not the right person” when that’s the truth.
